Leave Form for CAM Faculty and Staff. Please complete this form PRIOR to taking planned leave. Thank you!
I. Overview
The College of the Arts and Media Recruitment and Outreach funding program provides financial support for faculty engaging in strategic educational recruitment. The purpose is to hold the annual Provost’s Office allocation for assistance in the payment of expenses of UM visual and performing arts outreach activities. Outreach includes but is not limited to touring ensembles and productions, film screenings, and art installations as well as travel to regional and national recruiting events. Funding should support travel expenses, not salary, fees, or equipment.
Under the aegis of the school director, all faculty members and adjuncts directly involved in external recruitment efforts are welcome to apply for funding.
II. Recommended Uses for the Awards
· Outreach to schools
· Outreach to community arts centers and organizations
· Provide clinics, master classes, lectures, consultancies and mentorships
· Develop partnerships with community and tribal colleges, high schools and grade schools
III. Strategic Initiatives
This proposal touches on all the strategic goals for UM, but is most directly related to Partner with Place and Proudly Tell the UM Story. It should positively impact recruitment for students of all disciplines, strengthen our ties to Montana Schools and communities and subtly remind citizens of the value of higher education and the relationship of UM to their daily lives. Special attention will be directed to Native American and underserved Montana communities, who often do not have the staff or resources to bring students to our campus.
IV. Applying for Award Funding
To apply for award funding, please complete a proposal that includes the Submittable form.
Faculty may apply for funds at any time, however, funds are limited and priority will be given to those who apply by:
· Fall term grants: Oct 29
· Spring term grants: Jan 22
V. Expectation of Outcomes
Award monies will be granted based on level of need, availability of budget, and apparent contribution the award will make toward outreach, recruitment, and retention of Montana students and constituents.
Those who are awarded funding will be asked to provide a follow-up report.
